Everything is Better with Butter!

This week we celebrate a dream come true for an enterprising individual! Many of you have met Meredith Simmerman and sampled her various honey butter flavors at local events in lower Alabama. Did you know that on Saturday, August 24th she will open the doors of her new store front, called The Cottage? Over the past two years, her small batch butter company has grown steadily with products finding their way into grocery store cold cases throughout the area.

Meredith wanted to open a place where members of the community could gather and enjoy a cup of coffee, breakfast and of course her butter! We've had a "sneak peek" behind the front door of her new place and it is just darlin' (that's a New Orleans term of endearment). It has comfortable seating, along with a long table and colorful chairs where folks can gather. Mobile based Hills & Brooks Coffee will be available at her coffee station. I envision moms gathering there after dropping off their children at nearby schools. I also see business folks having breakfast together at this delightful destination!

In addition, customers will find local delicacies for sale including Guncles Gluten Free Baked Goods and Mo'Bay Beignet Mix. Of course, Reney's Honey Butter will be available in seasonal flavors!

Make plans to stop by this wonderful addition to West Mobile, Alabama. The Cottage is located at 9211 Cottage Hill Road, near McFarland.

We're experiencing record heat on the coast. Our friends at Daycool Heating & Air shared some helpful tips for pet owners recently!

1. Basic grooming on a regular basis catches loose hair that could end up in your filter. Clogged filters are a common problem when you own pets.

2. If you have shedding dogs or cats, change your filter more often. Instead of once a month, maybe check it every two weeks.

3. Vacuum the return & vents regularly.

4. Clean the blower at least twice a year.

5. Consider having Daycool out to clean your ductwork.

6. Keep pets away from your outside unit by fencing it off.
