This week in the kitchen I baked my hubby's favorite, Marion Sugar Cookies. This recipe was passed down to me from his mother, Marion Pecora. The cookies are similar to shortbread and are a wonderful accompaniment to a freshly brewed cup of coffee. Click here to watch the video on how to make these for your family!
When you own your business and work from home it is crucial that you bring some balance into your life. Otherwise, all you will do is work. One of my favorite things to do to retore stability is to go to my kitchen and create something wonderful. Fortunately, my husband has some "mad" cooking skills and joins me in the fun. When we are putting together a recipe, especially if it is one that was passed on to us like this one, we can feel that loved one in the room. (I imagine Marion smiling broadly while we are baking).
What do you do to find enjoyment in your everyday life? I cook, garden, read, chat with my hubby and play with the fur-kids. Recently, I was texting with a friend of mine who lives in Missouri. She was feeling out of sorts so I suggested some things that generally help folks reset. My "go to" for most folks feeling out of harmony is for them to get out in nature, find a tree and sit under it. This grounding technique is ancient and it usually works well. She replied that this would not work anymore for her. When I asked what would, she said she has to go for more drastic measures like rollercoaster rides, zip lining or skydiving. She needs a "jolt" to reset her life! Fortunately, she has an adventure planned for the weekend!
My take-a-way from that conversation was a gentle reminder that everyone's journey is unique. What works for many will not work for everyone. I have an appreciation for the fact that my friend's experience is very different from my own. Isn't that wonderful?

Insight from Your Journey Your Way!
My book is filled with practices that are designed to teach you how to plug into your intuition. The first lesson is a very simple one and I wanted to share it with you here.
Look at page 12 if you own the book!
How to Own it!
Life is filled with daily decisions and one choice always feels better than the other. For the next week when you are facing a decision, ask yourself: How does this make me feel?
Should I change lanes on the interstate?
Should I wear black shoes or brown?
Should I sit at the table and eat breakfast?
Should I allow someone to raise their voice at me?
Should I eat lunch alone or join others?
Should I say yes to a charity event?
When you put this simple exercise into practice you will tune into the "feeling" of what choices make you feel good. This connection lays the foundation for a deeper understanding of your natural intuition. Try it this week! Order your copy at charlsiepecoraro.com.
