When you talk about tradition, flavor, and community, it doesn’t get much better than Parkway Tavern in New Orleans. Established in 1911, this iconic spot has been serving up po-boys for generations. For my husband, it’s more than a restaurant — it’s a part of his life story. He’s been eating at Parkway since he was a boy, and on our recent trip, we kept the tradition alive with their famous roast beef po-boy and a fried shrimp po-boy sandwiches that did not disappoint.
Parkway is proof that when people pour heart and consistency into what they do, the results last for over a century. And that’s exactly what Meet da'Boss is all about — sharing the stories of businesses, big and small, that create a lasting impact in their communities.
“Driving Success: Ronnie Lee’s Automotive Sets Records in 2025”

This October, we’re shining a light on some of our own boss partners who are making moves, breaking records, and carrying their own legacies forward.
Take Ronnie Lee’s Automotive Service, for example. They’ve become the go-to repair shop for European vehicles in our area, and 2025 is shaping up to be a record-setting year. Their growth isn’t an accident — it’s the result of real expertise, a reputation built on trust, and a commitment to solving problems that most shops can’t touch.
Just like Parkway has become a New Orleans landmark by doing one thing exceptionally well — food — Ronnie Lee’s has built its name by delivering excellence in European auto repair for over 25 years. It’s a reminder that success comes from consistency, a team of master mechanics, and a focus on customer service. Read more about Andrew and his crew by clicking here.
“Navigating Medicare: Open Enrollment with Zoltek Healthcare”
Another boss partner who shines this month is Zoltek Healthcare Services, led by licensed insurance agent Jessica Zoltek, who specializes in Medicare Supplemental Insurance plans. With Open Enrollment beginning October 15th, this is the busiest and most critical season of the year for her and her clients.
For years, Jessica has been the trusted guide helping people navigate what can feel like a confusing and overwhelming process. She takes the time to explain options clearly, making sure customers choose plans that truly fit their needs. Her reach extends across four states — Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, and Louisiana — giving countless individuals and families the peace of mind that comes from making confident healthcare decisions.
Just like Ronnie Lee’s Automotive thrives by solving complex challenges with expertise, Jessica stands out because she brings clarity and compassion to an area that can easily feel complicated. This dedication to service is what makes Zoltek Healthcare a valued boss partner and a resource our community can count on.
“Leadership in Motion: Meet Mobile Marble’s New President & VP”

Change and growth are also in the air at Mobile Marble Company, where internal promotions resulted in Mike Waldo being named President along with Ryan Lindsey accepting his new role as Vice-President. Both are committed to honoring the company's long-standing reputation for top-quality bathroom remodeling and outstanding customer service.
Mobile Marble has built its name on craftsmanship, innovation and customer communication. With new leadership at the helm, the focus is on preserving the family-owned and operated legacy while exploring fresh opportunities to serve the Gulf Coast.
It's a reminder that strong businesses don't just build products, they build trust and continuity. Leadership may change, however the values of service, integrity, and commitment to excellence remain the foundation at Mobile Marble Company. Read more about this company by clicking here.
Fall in Love with Local: October is Perfect for Connecting to Others
“And since October is as much about cozy flavors as it is about community, I’m sharing a couple of my favorite fall recipes from my YouTube channel, Cooking with Charlsie, to round out this month’s Meet da' Boss highlights.”
And what’s October without a little pumpkin? This Pumpkin Cheesecake is creamy, perfectly spiced, and has that classic fall flavor everyone craves. It’s the kind of dessert that feels special enough for the holidays but simple enough to enjoy any night of the week. If you’re looking for a showstopper that brings fall to the table in every bite, this recipe is it. Click here to watch!
When the temperatures start to dip and the days get shorter, nothing hits the spot quite like a bowl of Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup. It’s comfort food at its best — hearty, soothing, and filled with flavor. This recipe is simple enough for a weeknight dinner but nourishing enough to keep on repeat all season long. It’s the kind of meal that warms you from the inside out — perfect for fall evenings. Click here to watch my video.
Of course, no October roundup would be complete without something a little sweet — and these Keto-Friendly Chocolate Peanut Butter Balls are just the treat. They’re rich, satisfying, and come together with no baking required. Perfect for a quick snack, a party tray, or a guilt-free indulgence when that chocolate craving hits. Bonus: they’re low-carb, so you can enjoy the flavor without the sugar crash. Click here to learn how to make these tasty dessert balls.
From Parkway Tavern’s century-old po-boys to the record-setting growth of Ronnie Lee’s Automotive, from Jessica’s dedication at Zoltek Healthcare Services to the new leadership at Mobile Marble Company — October reminds us that tradition and progress go hand in hand. Add in a few comforting fall recipes, and you’ve got the perfect mix of flavor, community, and inspiration. At Meet da 'Boss, that’s what I love sharing most: the stories, the people, and the tastes that make life — and business — truly local. ~ Charlsie Pecoraro
A Little Lagniappe!

If you are in Metairie shopping and want some authentic tasting seafood gumbo I suggest Bobby Hebert's Cajun Cannon on Veterans Memorial Blvd. This huge bowl of deliciousness was only $8 and was a satisfying meal. If it doesn't fill you up, you can always order something else! Hubby enjoyed a cup of Seafood Bisque and loved it. This was our first time eating at the restaurant and we were shocked at the quality. The wait staff was excellent and the noise level was much better than expected, considering it is a sports themed restaurant. Give it a try!
We spent the night at St. Charles Coach House and enjoyed the friendly staff, convenient location and free covered & secure parking. (This building used to be the Mercedes dealership...times have changed)! I do recommend this hotel, especially if you want to ride the streetcar to explore the city & the Garden District. You can walk to Houston's or catch the streetcar to Vincent's or Camelia Grill. Here's to micro-vacations!
