Last week The Local Vibe focused on New Year's resolutions or intentions. Most people focus on three main categories: Health, Wealth & Happiness. This week I'd like to share some tips on how to increase your joy in 2020! #wearebettertogether
#1 You Matter! You are important and unique. No one else sees the world the way that you do. Embrace your perspective and know that there are people interested in YOU!
#2 Eat healthy..your body is the only one you have so take care of it. (Bobby Howell at Clean Eatz and Marcile Sims, Certified Health Coach can show you a better way to nourish yourself.)
#3 De-clutter your environment. Donate or sell the things you haven't used in years. Simplifying your surroundings greatly reduces stress. (Kendra Snowden at TipTop Kimble's Cleaning, Sherri Wright at Caring Transitions and Diane Cashen Interior Design can all help with aspects of getting your home in order.)
#4 Take time for your personal well being. You can start your day in prayer and/or meditation before you "log on" to the screen. Check out this article from Adrienne Mishler to gain some insight on how taking time every day affects your life. Click here.
#5 Schedule time with people who uplift you and support your intentions for 2020. This can be business associates or personal friends. Sharing a cup of coffee or a glass of wine with someone and discussing ideas is inspiring. (Domke Market is always a welcoming spot to meet someone for coffee or wine.)
#6 Spend some time outside everyday. Did you know that many leaders schedule "walk-n-talk" meetings at parks? You'll get in some exercise, networking and enjoy the great outdoors! Give it a try!
#7 Get a good night's sleep. Resting for 8 hours every night gives your brain and body time to recover from the day. (Our friends at Good Morning Mattress can help you find the perfect "fit" for a mattress, pillows and sheets).
#8 Get your finances in order. (Chris Collins, financial planner, Richard Lindsey and Paula Waldo, CPA's can help you sort through your money situation).
#9 Travel more in 2020. (Adrienne Tate with Unique Destinations can help you plan your trip and stay on budget).
#10 Always remember that Happiness is a direction not a place! Focus your thoughts and energy on the things that bring contentment to your daily life. Enjoy the moment!

Boss of the Week is: Camille Wilkinson with The Camille Wilkinson Team
of Direct Mortgage Loans
Camille Wilkinson "works mortgage magic" according to her clients! Take a few minutes to read her story by clicking here. This dynamic "boss" guides her team of professionals and clients through the maze of financing a home. In fact many of her customers become lifelong friends.
We "quizzed" Camille on a few questions that we thought you'd be interested in!
#1 What is your favorite thing about living in Mobile?
My favorite thing is all the things you have to do in Mobile, and the history that is preserved from Oakleigh Homes downtown to Fort Gaines.
#2 What is one insider tip you would share with people moving to or visiting Mobile?
Always use your friends and family to recommend services you need.
#3 What is the one thing you would love for people to know about your business?
In the mortgage business normally you are a number or a one time relationship. With My Team at Direct Mortgage Loans, we build relationships for life and encourage our customers to call us with concerns and questions even after closing and years to come.
#4 What do you do for fun?
My down time is spent with my husband, family and grandchildren. From spending time at the pool, to pool parties and then baking and decorating cakes and shopping.
Thank you Camille for sharing!

If you aren't going to the game there are awesome places to gather with friends all along the coast to watch this one! This one is going to be especially exciting in our household since my husband, father and children have deep ties to LSU. On the other hand, my years living in Greenville, SC, cultivated a true admiration for Clemson! I know what we will be doing next Monday! How about you?
