Most of you know that I am a fan of motivational writer Ben Hardy and I wanted to share a few of the 15 things that he suggests you do immediately if you want to be successful.
#1 is invest at least 10% of your income in yourself! When it comes to self-improvement, investing 10% of your income on yourself will yield a 100X or more return on that investment. For every dollar you spend on your education, skills, and relationships, you’ll get at least 100 dollars back in returns. Investing in personal relationships insures that you will have the backing of the "home" team.
#2 is to invest 80% of your "off time" into learning. Make the decision to be a creator instead of a consumer. Ask yourself how much time are you spending consuming social media, television programs or playing video games? Spending some of that time learning means that your mental "saw" will be sharpened and ready to use. How many of us have jumped on Facebook or Pinterest and before realizing it, thirty minutes have flown by?
#6 is to shift your motivation from getting to giving. Instead of transactional relationships focus on transformative ones. There is nothing more exciting than empowering change in others and in yourself.
#8 is to create win-win strategic partnerships to achieve 10x or 100x goals. Instead of competition strive to collaborate with others. Joining with others means that ideas change; they get bigger! Recently I was thinking about a group of enterprising entrepreneurs that I worked with in Baton Rouge. We fed off of one another's energy and it was amazing what we were able to accomplish. Find your own "squad" to create momentum with! There are great networking groups you can join or create your own.
#15 is to take a firm stand because it becomes your brand. When you have a clear stance and brand, you separate yourself from the masses. You are no longer neutral. You believe in something, and are fighting to make a specific change. You develop "bulldog" tenacity and are fearless about your company!

Bubbles & Cake!
Saturday night we joined owner Brooke Bosarge Goff and many other locals to celebrate Mardi Gras at Domke Market. This wine and gift store in West Mobile is truly a gem. We enjoyed three varieties of King Cake - Pecan Praline, Bavarian Cream and Strawberry paired with Wilson Creek Almond Champagne and Belle Jardin Blanc de Blanc. (The Wilson Creek Almond was fantastic.)
Follow Domke Market on Facebook to keep up Brooke's creative events. You'll be able to read all about this local delight on Meet da' Boss in March!
We say good bye to February this week and welcome March and Mardi Gras to our Port City. Click here for a full schedule of parades in our area from AL.com.
For all you newbies to Mobile...Did you know that Christ United Recreation Ministry has an indoor walking track and fitness room that anyone can use for free? All you have to do is fill out a card and attends a one-time fitness orientation Monday - Friday at 6:30PM. The center is located on Grelot Road. This is a great option to have with the rainy weather we've been experiencing these days.
Have a great week everyone!
Charlsie
