February is the shortest month of the year, however it is packed with special occasions and things to do. In this edition of The Local Vibe, I'll share some great options for you to make February a memorable month in your home! Let's get started...

The Big Game is Sunday, February 9th
The Big Game is Sunday, February 9th

Did you know that folks in the United States have been gathering to cheer on their favorite football teams for the "big game" since 1967? That's 56 years of prepping "fan food" and picking a team to root for. I've got wings and meatballs on the menu for us to enjoy. What will you be serving for your crowd? I'll share links to these delicious recipe videos later in this blog.

Many of you are fortunate to have family and friends that you truly love! I count myself among the blessed for I am married to a wonderful man and surrounded by friends that I adore. Valentine's Day is a wonderful opportunity to go the extra mile for those you care about. Why not drop an old fashioned card in the mail to loved ones that might not receive one on that holiday? Trust me, it will make their day. I want to wish you a very happy Valentine's Day!

On Monday, February 17th we have the occasion to celebrate Random Acts of Kindness day. I try to incorporate kindness into my everyday life, however it is always a good practice to scout out novel ways to be compassionate. Here are a few from a list of 50 that I wanted to share with you. Want to know more? Click here for the full list.

  • Call a friend that you haven’t spoken to for a while

  • Offer to pick up some groceries for your elderly neighbor

  • Offer to babysit for a friend

  • Put a surprise note or drawing on someone’s desk

  • Make a donation to a charity
