Fun Ways to Spend a Day in Mobile, Alabama!

Perhaps you are new to Mobile or maybe you are visiting for a few days. Let's explore how you might spend a day with family and friends! There are some unique experiences offered in "Mobtown" for you to enjoy!

BREAKFAST: If you are in West Mobile on a weekday, then I suggest you stop in and meet Meredith Simmerman at The Cottage at 9211 Cottage Hill Road. She serves hot coffee and delicious breakfast biscuits with her product, Reney's Honey Butter! She is adding things to her menu weekly, so be certain to check it out when you are in town. Her butter flavors are seasonal so Pumpkin & Peach are being offered now!

SOUTHERN BREAKFAST: What if you are looking for one of those substantial sorts of breakfasts you've dreamed about? You know the kind I am talking about: Eggs, bacon, biscuits, grits, hash browns and more. Look no further than The Hickory Pit in Semmes, Alabama. Brandon Van Hook and his team are going to make sure you don't leave their place hungry! Located at 8919 Moffett Road, it is a short drive from anywhere in Mobile. This is one of those local gems that you hope to stumble upon when traveling. They open at 5AM for all of you early risers!

Mid-Morning: Treat yourself to an "escape" from daily life by scheduling spa services at Nouveau on Dauphin! There is a "magical" door that you walk thru to enter one of the most relaxing places in Mobile, Alabama. The plush rugs and attention to decor, set the tone for this unique experience.

Services include massages, facials, body treatments, hair, makeup, hydrafacials, waxing, nail care and more. Melita Ham & David White have a wonderful staff of professionals ready to "treat" you during your visit!

To schedule a service call 251-380-2900 or click here to visit their website.

Lunch: There are some incredible options for lunch; however if you are near downtown Mobile, then there is only one place to go: The Cheese Cottage! Owners Kristi & Bubba Barber are ready to welcome you to their little cheese shop. The Bleu Cheese Wedge is one of my all time favorites, right there with the Ultimate Four Cheese Baguette. Click here for the full menu and know that they offer weekly specials!

West Mobile Lunch: Another tasty option that will keep you eating healthy is Clean Eatz! My friends and I are hooked on the Build-a-Bowl option that owner Bobby Howell offers in the cafe! Maybe you are looking for a "lean-n-green" lunch, well this is the place! Visit his website by clicking here.

Shopping in the Afternoon: If you are looking for some genuine southern hospitality, then you'll want to visit several retail establishments in the area. You know that I am a huge fan of my bamboo sheets from Good Morning Mattress, so I'd suggest you stop by and meet Carlos, Tina & James. This is a "no pressure" store so you can browse, ask questions, enjoy a cup of coffee and perhaps leave with the BEST sheets ever! They are located at 6153 Airport Road.

Grab a seat on the comfy sofas at Crimson Blue Boutique and be prepared to be loved on by Hope and her team. This unique ladies store offers trendy fashions for women of all sizes. Don't be surprised if her girls are putting out NEW merchandise while you shop! She is constantly getting in things for the season! Talk about affordable too!

Mid-Afternoon: I'd suggest you visit Brooke and her crew at Domke Market. You can settle in at one of her tables and sip on a glass of wine! Be sure to check out all of her events while you are there. Hey you may return later in the evening for a wine tasting! Click here to visit her website.

I don't know about you but sometimes I start feeling ill while traveling. We were in Atlanta recently and of course, I got a bit congested. If you have 20 minutes to go RELAX and feel better too, then I'd suggest a visit to Salt & Light Spa. Owner, Lesley Senne will be delighted to introduce you to Halotherapy Salt treatment. You'll walk out of the booth breathing deep and feeling so much better. Visit her website by clicking here.
