Hello Fall Weather! Supporting Local Business Owners! What's Cooking on YouTube & Things to Do!

Autumn conditions have arrived on the Gulf Coast and folks are taking their sweaters and boots out of storage for the sudden drop in temperature. It has always amazed me how quickly we can move from the eighty's to the 30's in a matter of twenty-four hours. As one who enjoys fall, I welcome the decrease in humidity and the crisp, cool air that welcomes me every morning on my dog walk.

Have you noticed how amenable people are when the climate cools off? I am witnessing more smiling faces and a relaxed pace in our area. The scents of cinnamon and pumpkin spice are perfuming the inside of both homes and stores! It truly is a wonderful time to be in the port city.

I wanted to share the latest decor from my sweet neighbor, Lynn. This morning, when I took the fur boys out for their AM excursion, I saw this precious mailbox treatment! It is so delightful to see people getting into the spirit of Thanksgiving. We truly have so much to be thankful for in this country.

Thanksgiving has a special place in my heart because of my mother's heritage. She had four relatives aboard the Mayflower, and they attended the first feast in 1621. In fact, Mary Chilton, famed for being the first female to set foot on Plymouth Rock, was her grandmother, several generations removed. This small group of 102 voyagers faced incredible difficulties crossing the ocean and attempting to settle in this country. It took 66 days for them to reach the mainland of America in 1620. It is worth noting that they landed in Provincetown Harbor first before moving on to Plymouth. The first Thanksgiving was observed in 1621 between the Pilgrims of Plymouth Colony and the Wampanoag tribe.

This Week on YouTube!

Who doesn't love a good cheesecake? This Pumpkin Cheesecake is one of the BEST if not, the greatest cheesecake I have ever eaten. Full disclosure...I am not a huge pumpkin fan, however I made this concoction because of a very special request. This is IT, the dessert you should make for family and friends for Thanksgiving. Add a dollop of whipped cream and some roasted pecans for extra panache! Click here to "cook with me" on YouTube and let me know how yours turns out!

According to one of my favorite movies, Chef, if you put Ahi Tuna on a menu it is going to sell out! Why not learn to cook this fan favorite at home? Join me on YouTube and I'll show you how to grill tuna steak on your stovetop. It is so simple to make and you will certainly enjoy the results. Click here to watch the video and thanks for subscribing to the channel! Remember its free to subscribe!

Cooking is one of my hobbies and I really enjoy sharing great recipes with you! Next week I'll show you how to make southern style green beans and more heavenly soups and sides for the holiday season! I plan to share some enticing dessert recipes too! My best friend lives out in Phoenix and she was telling me about a Churro Cheesecake. We did the research and I'll be testing it out in my kitchen soon!

Houston Horne, owner of Handy Guys Moving

Handy Guys Moving has been helping commercial businesses and residential owners relocate for the past 10 years. Houston Horne is the owner and he is dedicated to taking the stress out of your next move. Why not let his professionally trained and certified staff literally take the load off your back?

Houston has accumulated a wealth of moving skills over the years and has shared some of them on his YouTube channel. Click on the thumbnail below to go check it out. I learned so much about what NOT to load on a truck. I imagine many DIY movers have no clue that some of these items are so combustible when exposed to heat.

I admire this young man for taking on entrepreneurship at a very young age and focusing on growing his company year over year. I can't wait to see where he goes in the next 10
