Every fall, Mobile restaurants celebrate hamburgers by offering something unique for the week of September 30th thru October 7th. RedBar Espresso is one of 32 local places participating in Mobtown Burger Week!
Here's the description of this delicious offering from RedBar's Social Media.
The Outlaw has arrived for MobTown Burger Week! This burger is so good it’s criminal. Two fresh local grass fed beef smash patties, sharp chedder cheese, house made candies jalapeños, crispy onion straws, butter lettuce, and house sauce on a brioche bun. First bite and you’ll be clackin your stirrups. Comes with chips or you can upgrade to one of our premium sides. $2 of every Outlaw served all week goes to Restore Mobile. Be sure to VOTE for us if it’s your favorite!
You've got two days left to try out these creative concoctions by local chefs! RedBar Espresso and Market is located at 7681 Old Shell Road in West Mobile! I like a burger that should be "criminal" because it is so yummy. I think I'll be heading over there for lunch!
Note: You can use Portobello Mushroom caps as the "bun" for your burgers. Click here to watch a video on how to prepare them!
What's New on YouTube?
Those of you that follow this blog, realize that I have made a strong effort to cut out the "whites" in my meals. The payoff has been the elimination of sinus issues. I have been on the hunt for delicious dishes and this Broccoli-Bacon-Cheese one is at the top of the list! I discovered a foundational recipe and then added some extra "love" to it. I have made this casserole at least three times since finalizing the recipe ingredients. From prep to table, you are looking at about 30 minutes, with 15 of that being the baking time in your oven. Click here to watch!
The ideal complement to the broccoli recipe is this healthy Chicken Fried Steak recipe, using almond flour & parmesan cheese. In this video, I'll show you how to prepare this tasty protein using cube steak. Click here to watch and give it a try soon! I do suggest that you season the beef with Paul Prudhomme's Meat Magic (available at Rouse's or online) or your favorite steak seasoning of choice.
Coming soon- I'll show you how to make a simple sauce that will take your grilled fish up a notch! Thank you for subscribing to my channel!
Walking... Why I Continue to Do it Daily!
Once a habit is established and them optimized, it becomes part of your daily routine. These guys are quick to remind me that our morning walk is great for everyone concerned. Despite the fact, that Marcello, the poodle is 12, he absolutely thrives on what I lovingly call the "sniff safari" of the neighborhood. Lil' Jack sends loads of "p-mail" to all of the other canines, letting them know that he has been on his regular romp.
Here are some of the benefits I have enjoyed since committing to our daily excursion:
I am happier. Getting out into nature and watching how much my little house-wolfs appreciate this simple act has been gratifying.
I am healthier. Yes, I am stronger, lighter and more fit. My stamina has gone up and it has become a game to get in 10K of steps daily.
I have replaced bad habits with good ones. Sitting too long at my desk was a habit that was not good for my health. Since I became intent on walking daily, it has become so easy to get up every hour and move.
Walking daily has satisfying results. This small shift has improved my body, mind and soul!
So what are you waiting for? Go take a walk!
Walking tip: Did you know that if you walk with your palms facing forward it improves your posture? Try it!
Networking Opportunities this Week!
Jessica Zoltek will be hosting the Women's Info Networking group at her Healthcare Resource Center office this Tuesday at 8AM. Membership is not required, just a $5 donation at the door. This donation goes to local charities in the area.
If you are a female entrepreneur looking to network with others, make plans to join WIN at 4430 Government Blvd., Suite C in the AlaCoast Insurance building. Breakfast and coffee will be served!
On October 12th The Moving Wall will be on display at Serenity Funeral Home in Theodore. Jessica and her active military husband, Mike, will be on hand all morning to greet visitors.
"The Moving Wall" is the half-size replica of the Washington, DC Vietnam Veterans Memorial and has been touring the country for thirty plus years. When John Devitt attended the 1982 dedication in Washington, he felt the positive power of "The Wall." He vowed to share that experience with those who did not have the opportunity to go to Washington.
John, Norris Shears, Gerry Haver, and other Vietnam veteran volunteers built The Moving Wall. It went on display for the first time in Tyler, Texas in October of 1984. Two structures of The Moving Wall now travel the USA from April through November, spending about a week at each site.
My brother, a former Army Green Beret, and I viewed the full sized memorial located in Washington DC. It was a sobering experience for both of us that I will never forget. Please visit the traveling version at 8691 Old Pascagoula Road from October 12th thru the 16th.
Watch this video of the full size memorial of the 58, 200 Americans lost in the Vietnam War from the National Park Service website. Thank you to everyone who has served and died for our country.
Fall Weather is on its Way!
The crisp air of fall is on its way to our area. Rumor has it that next week we will have some evening temperatures dropping into the 50's!
Our West Mobile neighborhood is beginning to decorate for the season. A little lagniappe to my daily walks is that I get to see creative landscapes like this one. My neighbor did a great job of setting the tone for our street!
I hope that you have a wonderful week. Spend time with family and friends. There are plenty of festivals, football games and other events to enjoy!
Happy walking everyone! ~ Charlsie
