Graduation Day for Mobile Ambassadors! Things happening this weekend on the Coast!

Mayor Sandy Stimpson

Graduation Day for the newest class of Visit Mobile Tourism Ambassadors Program was celebrated on Tuesday, October 11th at Innovation Portal on St. Louis Street in downtown Mobile, Alabama. Mayor Sandy Stimpson spoke to our class about exciting ventures coming to our city and congratulated us on completing our training.

Ambassadors of Mobile are tasked with extending southern hospitality to folks who visit our city. Taking time to give directions, find out interests and suggest places to visit, are just a few of the qualities that we focused on. We learned valuable information about our downtown and explored many local attractions. One of my classmates summed up the training as "speed dating" Mobile! As a class, we cultivated a working knowledge of the municipality and its highlights!

It was great to be a part of a diverse group of individuals who were genuinely interested in the betterment of our city. I made some lifelong friends in the group and am looking forward to all of the growth that is happening here. If you would like to be a part of the March 2023 TAP program or want to know more, contact Allison Floyd at afloyd@mobile.org. She will fill you in on the details. I strongly encourage you to sign up!

Shout out to Dr. Jennifer Sutton of Gulf Coast Veterinary Emergency Hospital

Dr. Jennifer Sutton

Last week, I took my fur kids in for their annual checkup with Dr. Jeff Sutton at Beachview Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Jeff & Dr. Jennifer (husband/wife team) have been taking care of our dogs for years. I found out that Dr. Jennifer was in south Florida taking care of search & rescue dogs. She discovered that they were getting sick searching for survivors in all the Hurricane Ian muck. She loaded up a trailer with supplies and headed down to help. I wanted to take a moment to recognize this HERO among us. Thank you for all that you do for our Gulf Coast community. You are one of those humble humans that makes our world a better place. Check out their state-of-the-art ER veterinary hospital by clicking here.

Looking for a Southern Experience? Book a night at Fort Conde Inn!

Fort Conde Inn is a 4 star boutique hotel, located in downtown Mobile. This quaint and historic area harkens back to antebellum days and will thrill anyone who loves history. No worries about modern conveniences, because this inn offers you all of the comforts you are seeking.

Insider Tip: Walk across the street and have lunch at Bistro Saint Emanuel!

The Fort Condé Inn is a one-of-a-kind historic hotel. Comprised of a collection of elegant homes dating back to the early 19th century, all located within the private enclave known as Fort Conde Village, the inn allows its guests to take a step back in time while maintaining the highest standards of modern luxury. If the inn makes a lasting impression, that’s because it’s been centuries in the making. ~ from their website
