Getting ready for the "Arctic Blast" along the Gulf Coast Region!

As I was walking the dogs earlier today, I found it hard to fathom that on Tuesday night our temperatures will dip into the 20's. Whether you call Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Mobile or anywhere along the Gulf Coast home, there are some big weather changes coming. My neighbors were busy this weekend taking care of plants and checking the outside pipes.

The cooler temps seem to put people in the mood to shop for the holidays, meet up with friends for hot chocolate or coffee, and of course decorate. If you visit any "big box" stores you'll be greeted with huge holiday displays. It is almost as though we jumped from Halloween to Christmas and conveniently forgot about Thanksgiving.

Standard Poodle

Alan and I wait until after Thanksgiving before we start decorating and now that we are "empty nesters"

we only put out the things that bring us joy!

I did see this precious display at my

neighbor's home and wanted to share. As a standard poodle owner, I fell in love with this one!

I'd encourage all of you to focus on the theme of giving,

perhaps in a new way. Could you take a portion of the money that you plan to spend on others this year and shop local?

We've all seen those motivational quotes floating around on social media about supporting your neighbors who own their own stores. Wouldn't it feel great to know that the dollars you spend really do have an impact on folks you see on a regular basis?

Many of our local shops offer gift cards, free gift wrapping, personal assistance finding just the right gift and so much more. Adventure out and explore your town instead of sitting behind a computer "shopping"! You'll love the experience of getting to know more about the community and the brave owners who count on your business.

Years ago, someone ran a red light and broadsided me resulting in injuries and the total demise of my

beloved car. Fortunately, I was able to find a caring attorney who guided me through the rigors of collecting from insurance to cover my medical expenses and car replacement. After moving to

Mobile, I wanted to find someone who truly cares

about clients.

I'd like to introduce you to local injury attorney, Charles McCorquodale. He has years of experience representing injured & disabled people in the Mobile

area. Visit his website by clicking here or contact his office at 251-220-2790. His story will appear on meetdaboss.com/injurylawyer later this month.
