Love is defined by Merriam-Webster as a feeling of strong or constant affection for a person. It can also be used to describe how we feel about all sorts of things including our favorite food, our pets, our homes and cars. I know that the love I have for my husband is very different from the love I have for my car. As a writer, I enjoy exploring language and was surprised to find out that Sanskrit, a very ancient language, has over 200 words for love. There is a Sanskrit word for the love you have for your children. Another word describes your love of food. I think it is fun to step back and look at all of the ways we use the word love to describe strong feelings about things. We tend to splash the word love around like cool water on a hot, summer day! Wouldn't it be exciting to have different words to use for these various types of love? Our ancestors were certainly creative with language!
On Monday, we celebrate Valentine's Day, whose origin goes back to Roman times. Lupercalia was a fertility festival dedicated to Faunus, the Roman god of agriculture, as well as to the Roman founders Romulus and Remus. In an effort to Christianize the celebration, St. Valentine's Feast Day was designated in 270AD to commemorate the anniversary of the death of Saint Valentine. Click here to read more about the origins of the holiday.
I hope that you will have a wonderful Valentine's Day with those that you love! As a person who adores experiences over things, I am looking forward to quality time with my special guy.
What's New on YouTube this Week?

Big Game Time! What's on the Menu?
My Louisiana friends are getting excited about watching LSU alumni, Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals taking on the Los Angeles Rams at 5:30PM on Sunday. The big game is an excuse to serve some extraordinary "handhelds" including our muffuletta. Click here to watch the video on how to make this for your guests. Sometimes Rouses carries small muffuletta buns that are ideal for making singles. That is a great option for game day parties.
In addition to this show stopping sandwich, a healthy charcuterie board, dips & chips and of course some sweet treats will complete the grazing table for this fun event. Do you gather with family and friends for this American tradition? We'll be tuning in to cheer on Joe!
Happenings This Week!
David Carpenter spent some time at our home recently and spoiled Lil Jack with some extra treats. He caught me up on all of the things happening with his company, Upspyre. I was delighted to find out that he is close to maxing out with his Personal Development Client availability. I believe he only has one or two spots open! If you are thinking about hiring a coach, give him a call soon!
There are many other things that his company offers to business owners including identity protection and legal assistance. I have been a client for years and have been amazed at the savings my membership has provided.
Thank you David for spending time with me and giving poor Lil Jack some attention! Be sure and watch the video to see how Marcello photo bombed the shoot! Dogs are a great judge of character!

Last week we joined friends to celebrate Lisa Harkey's birthday! John Guidry, from Lafayette, Louisiana spoiled Lisa and her company by boiling 5 sacks of crawfish for the celebration. The weather was perfect and the food reminded us of home! Even though I've been in Mobile for years, there is still a part of me that thinks of The Red Stick as home. I could not think of a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than enjoying fantastic company and delicious seafood!
Many of you will recognize Lisa as the founder of AlaCoast Insurance Agency. She opened her business with zero clients and has grown it into a thriving company with two locations.
